Hiking route to the Corona Volcano and the Riscos de Famara
About this experience
This route takes place in the northern part of the island, where we'll explore two protected natural areas: the La Corona Volcano Natural Monument and the Famara cliffs, which are part of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park.
We begin in the village of Ye, from where we'll head to the La Corona Volcano. During the ascent to its crater, we'll admire beautiful views of a rural landscape primarily dedicated to vineyards. You'll also see spectacular lava flows, known as "malpaises," with enormous basaltic blocks extending towards an emerald sea. After seeing the huge crater, we'll walk around its eastern side to observe its 7.6 km long volcanic tube from a distance.
Next, we'll descend and walk for a few kilometers along the central part of the Famara cliffs. At 22 km long, this impressive rock wall rises from sea level to over 500 meters high. From a short distance, we'll be able to see the highest point on the island, Las Peñas del Chache, at 670 m. You'll also have a magnificent view of the entire Chinijo Archipelago, with the island of La Graciosa in the foreground—a truly unforgettable sight!
This is a medium-level hike of about 3 hours and 45 minutes, suitable for children aged 7 and up, with a total route of 8 km. This tour is not suitable for people with vertigo. You will also enjoy one of the areas with the greatest floral and ornithological diversity in Lanzarote, with a large number of endemic species that our naturalist guide will show you.

What to bring
- Closed footwear without heels, hiking or sport shoes with a sturdy sole
- In summer, a hat and sunglasses are welcome
- we recommend bringing some light warm clothing, such as a sweatshirt, windbreaker, or similar
- Water and supplementary energy boosts: Sandwiches, snacks, energy bars, etc.
Important
- The activity lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes, plus the round-trip travel time we need from your pick-up location to the tour starting point.
- Clients should bring closed-toe athletic or hiking shoes. Clients wearing inappropriate footwear such as high heels or flip-flops will not be accepted on the excursion. In the event client does not wear appropriate footwear, will not be able to participate in the activity and refunds will not be provided
- Activity only suitable for children over 7 years old
- The excursion is not able for people with vértigo, significant mobility problems and a risk of severe cardiac or respiratory problems
- You must stay hydrated, so please bring enough water
- Participants under 18 years old must join the activity accompanied by an adult

Cancel for free up to 24 hours before the activity starting time. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, late arrivals, or no-shows will not be refunded.
